CompTIA is making a widely anticipated move to change the structure of the A+ Certification. CompTIA is sticking with a two exam format but has moved away from separate hardware and operating system exams to a combined essentials exam and one of three electives. The three electives are for IT Technicians (220-602), Remote Support Techs (220-603), and Depot Technicians (220-604). CompTIA also plans an additional test, 220-605, with the topic to be determined. The Computing Technology Industry Association, or CompTIA, created several vendor-neutral industry certifications to help employers assess employee's qualifications and experience. It brings together a broad range of companies to create these certifications.
CompTIA A+ 2003The CompTIA A+ certification is an entry level certification for computer service technicians. The A+ certification consists of two exams: A+ Hardware and A+ Operating System Technologies. The A+ tests an individual on core hardware components, printers, installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventative maintenance, and basic networking. CompTIA CTT+The CompTIA CTT+ certification is designed for trainers to become certified.
